Today, all the rally site has been dismantled, and they have moved to Lumphini.
Though i'm glad that BKK shutdown is over, but i couldn't help myself feel sorry for the beautiful park as it is now been "raped" by these protestors.
Anyway, back to the BKK Shutdown rally site, this one was in MBK... and personally, this site caused me displeasure and anger towards Suthep and the protestors..
why...
MBK before the shutdown...
and now... during the shutdown...
Tents were every parts of the streets near MBK
even the BTS walkway was blocked..
i personally hated this site as i saw lots of "outsiders" having no business whatsoever involved in this mayhem, other than the fact that they were paid by Suthep...
And such mayhem had out businesses in MBK on hold, and caused inconviences to many....
yes... there were so few people in MBK.... i felt like i was in Twilight Zone..
only one exit to BTS... erghhhhhhhhhh!!!
anyway... glad that its over.... but according to Suthep.. it is far from over...
well... we will have to just wait and see.....

BANGKOK SHUTDOWN 2014 : CENTRAL WORLD / RATCHAPRASONG
The Ratchaprasong area which connects Central World to Siam Paragon and Pratunam, also there a many shopping Malls there, had become one of the main protestors' rally site. And who would have thought that thing got ugly and bloody last week as a grenade was thrown in from of Big C, and two innocent little kids were the unfortunate victims....
Here is the area before Bangkok Shutdown..
on your left is the Central World, and on the right is the Big C..
now during the Bangkok Shutdown..
and here is outside Central World... which is totally empty and deserted...
hard to believe that a grenade was thrown in that area in front Big C...
here is the road on the way to Pratunam / Platinum..
and tents...
back to the streets...
opportunity to make money....
Bangkok police headquaters before the shutdown....
after the shutdown.....
horrible...
i am glad that it is over (the shutdown that is...)
BANGKOK SHUTDOWN 2014 : SIAM PARAGON / BTS SIAM
Good news today as it is official that Bangkok Shutdown is finally shutting down tomorrow ( 2nd March 2014)... phewwww.. what a relief as it revitalises my passion to go back to Bangkok... i must admit, the recent grenade throwing, gun fights and death of innocent bystanders really startled me.
Anyway, lets look at some of the photos of the Bangkok Shutdown at the BTS Siam / Siam Paragon area :
before the shutdown...
BTS Siam and Paragon.. normal traffic...
now... the Shutdown..
CRAZYYYY!!!!
BTS Skywalk...
looking down, there's virtually no traffic at all...
though, from the surface.. it looks kind of fun since it is full of people walking by, looking at the night market like atmosphere...
still.. i am so glad that it is now over....
